As Holmes heads to Chicagoland Speedway, he rides the momentum of four top-five and nine top-10 finishes.

Review Mirror: World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway … With inclement weather in the area on Saturday afternoon, ARCA Menards Series official were forced to cancel qualifying and base the starting lineup off practice speeds, granting Holmes the fifth spot. As Holmes was rounding turn two on lap 11, he lost control and spun but was able to prevent damage. Crew chief Shane Huffman called Holmes to the attention of the No. 23 pit crew for four tires and fuel. Holmes returned to the racing surface in the 15th position on lap 27. As he was racing for the 13th spot on lap 68, he spun and made contact with the outside wall. With minimal damage, Holmes returned to racing action and battled his way back to a 10th-place result.

BRET HOLMES QUOTES:
You had a good run at Charlotte Motor Speedway last month. Is there anything that you can take from racing there to this week’s race at Chicagoland Speedway?

“Yeah, for sure. I think your baseline build for all of your speedway cars is pretty typically for just about all of the intermediate tracks that we go to, minus Pocono (Raceway). Our intermediate program is strong this year. We didn’t race at Chicago last year, so I’m not as comfortable with the track. That’s more on my end, though. I think Chicago is a little bit easier of a track to get ahold of, so that makes me feel better about heading into the race there. The difference in cars from this season to the last few years is pretty big as far as what we’re doing set up wise. I’m working on getting to the point where I’m pushing the limits of the car earlier. I feel like our game plan for this week’s race is very similar to what we did at Charlotte. If we can do that, we’ll be up front contending for the win.”

You have a new sponsor this week, can you tell us a little bit about them?
“I’m really excited to welcome Techworks Trailer Sales to the team for this week’s race at Chicagoland Speedway. Techworks started in Elkhart, Ind., and have been family owned ever since. It’s pretty cool to be able to partner with another family-owned business. I can’t wait for Mr. Barnes and everyone at Techworks Trailer Sales to see the car and experience the ARCA Menards Series race at Chicago.”
